D800 - will be out in November...

Interesting if true, but will reserve judgement until it's finally released. Even so, it's probably not a day one purchase for me unless the price is less than expected. Don't get me wrong, I can probably afford one on release date, but to me i'm not sure the added features to me are worth the...

D800 - will be out in November...

Will inevitably get one once the price drops a little or maybe once they start to appear on the 2nd hand market, but in no real rush. I wouldn't turn down 36 megapixels (have a pc that can deal with that already for processing), but I don't really do anything that requires that many. When I...

Would you go from a Nikon 50 1.4G to the Sigma 50 1.4?

Much appreciated. Think I will go for one if I can pick one up at reasonable enough price, otherwise I will just stay with what i've got.

Would you go from a Nikon 50 1.4G to the Sigma 50 1.4?

Usually shooting around F2 (1.4 is nice, but the dof is usually a little too thin unless I have a decent amount of distance between me and the subject), would that still be enough to make the swap worth it?

Would you go from a Nikon 50 1.4G to the Sigma 50 1.4?

It looks like I can pick one up 2nd hand for no real difference to what I can sell the Nikon at.

Would you go from a Nikon 50 1.4G to the Sigma 50 1.4?

Already planning to pick one up, was more asking if it cost me £30 to £40 to switch, would it be worth it?

Would you go from a Nikon 50 1.4G to the Sigma 50 1.4?

As thread title really, there seems to be huge praise for the Sigma and I am trying to do a fair emount more portrait work. The cost of going from on the the other seems fairly minimal, so would you say it is worth it?

    Football Match Photography

Personally if the light is good enough, which you'll prefer anyway get the shutter speed high enough, I wouldn't be overly worried about a tri-pod because as you said unless you are going to stay in one area, it may proove more of a hinderance. Others may have a different opinion though, and...

    Good Grief

I'd say more tacky than anything else. God knows why anyone would want photos like that, but then if it makes them happy........

    D300 or D90

A fair amount of a price difference though. Personally I actually prefer the D90/D7000 size, which is why the D7000 is such a good camera a it offers a lot of the build quality of the D300, but in a more compact body. I guess is depends on how much the OP wants to spend.

    D300 or D90

Between those 2, the D300 hands down, unless you either want a more compact body, or you want video (and video you have manual focus at that). D300 is better built, higher fps, bigger buffer, better auto focus system, better weather sealing, similar ish noise performance I believe, list kinda...

    D3000 or D200 ?

I'd prbably say worth going for the D200, or maybe a D80 depending on what your looking for, not sure how much they are going for at the moment though.
