    Walkabout lens

This looks like an easy one. If it were me, I would go with either the 24-70 f2.8 L II or a 24-105 f4 L. Like you I have a 70-200 and also a 7d Mk2. I have the first version of the 24-105 F4 myself (wonderful lens) but given the overlap in range with the 70-200 my preference would be for the...

    17-40 or 24-105???

OP. Great question. I have read this thread from top to bottom. Exactly the same question I have had recently. 24-105 will be what I will be going for next. Cheers OP and everyone for their views.

    Canon 70mm 200mm f4 USM should I buy it?

Awesome lens. I bought mine 2nd hand when I just had a 400d and the results were amazing when put next to the cheapo sigma lens I bought with the camera. I wish I could have afforded the IS version but it really is an awesome lens.

    50D Owners Thread - Anything 50D related

Not quite 50mm but I love my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM. On a cropped body this gets you to 50 (ish) unless you had already accounted for the crop with the 50mm 1.4. Really nice lens for low light portrait work. Not too expensive either but decent build quality and full time manual focus.

Great idea Pete. I just went and bought one (a little early Christmas present from me to me) and quickly looked for this thread. Put a subscription on and your post was the first notification I received. Currently enjoying learning to play with back focus (although now I realise this is...

Borrowing A 40D will My Wallet Regret It

Really interesting to hear someone say this as on paper they don't have many differences (fps, digic3, interface...). I was thinking about this exact same upgrade but had a feeling it may not be worth it. 40d or 50d it is then.

    Looking at new cameras

D-SLR without a doubt. Then you can start collecting lenses (a bit addicting!). I had an earlier variant to the camera you have and thought when I bought my first D-SLR I would hold onto it. In then end I dumped the S2-IS. What has become more important is a really compact camera (my...

    London camera shop?

camera world (i think that's what it's called) off eastcastle street, I think it was on Wells street. I was visiting a client on Berners street and popped in there. A big Jessops around here towards Tottenham Ct Road. Easiest thing would be to head towards Tottenham court road where you can...
