    Need help buying Hasselblad gear

I actually came to opposite conclusion and picked Mamiya (Phase One now) for the reasons that it is quite modular (with open digital back interfaces allowing a variety of back choices and film on Mamiya AFD bodies), lenses command reasonable prices on second hand market and have a reputation to...

Rodenstock TV-Heligon 50mm f/0.75 for Nikon (with focusing and aperture) - part 2

AlexLobos, as I already said in earlier post some of these lenses have very small back focal distance - to quote myself From all the mirrorless I know of the chances of being able to focus on near infinity woth those lenses will only be achievable on Pentax Q.

Rodenstock TV-Heligon 50mm f/0.75 for Nikon (with focusing and aperture) - part 2

I did all the adapters myself. The versions of those lenses are all different with various housings so the conversions depend on that. In my case with two lenses I converted I used two different step down rings in each case - glued them to the base of the lens with industrial strength metal...

Rodenstock TV-Heligon 50mm f/0.75 for Nikon (with focusing and aperture) - part 2

Sorry have not checked this thread for a while. The Rodenstocks infinity position (and where it achieves true f/0.75) was 6-7mm from the image plane. So on DSLRs like Nikons it will only be suitable for macro since it pushes it quite substantially away. That was primarily the case when I was...

Lightroom 5 Catalog back to Lightroom 4?

The catalog structure has little to do with process version - it changes regardless and this is why it takes some time to start it first time after upgrade. It is also the reason that following that the new version of LR keeps the copy of old version of catalog.

Rodenstock TV-Heligon 50mm f/0.75 for Nikon (with focusing and aperture) - part 2

You dug up 4 year old thread and started asking "why"? The answer simply be - because I wanted to and because other manual lenses are not the same.

Lightroom 5 Catalog back to Lightroom 4?

The Lightroom catalog is just an SQLite database and can be opened and browsed through the tables with any SQLite capable tool. They usually similar between the versions but not exactly the same. Sometimes the tables change structure sometimes they have just a few columns added/changed. Going...

Pentax 67 Lenses - good source for used?

I think its a bit seasonal - I have seen prices around 200 month ago on eBay. Now all that is left is a few EU sellers with quite overpriced lenses. I'll keep looking for a bargain :)

Pentax 67 Lenses - good source for used?

This chap here. Its GBP 589 (I seemed to recall I saw it last week for just above 500 but may be it was a wishful thinking) so a bit above what I said. Good luck with the purchase  I'll keep looking for local bargain..

Pentax 67 Lenses - good source for used?

They are not cheap but FFordes ones are quite a bit overpriced for used ones. For an extra 50 pounds on top of their mint one I can get a shiny new one. Which is why I asked for a local stores where one can find a bargain :)

Pentax 67 Lenses - good source for used?

Anyone knows a good local store or other reliable source of used Pentax 67 lenses? I became interested in a system recently and currently looking for 45mm but majority on eBay seem to come from Germany, US and Japan and cost rather a lot more than I remember looking at this a year ago.

How to stop reflection of sky in car paint

CPL is not blocking reflection its polarising light. The reflection block or the opposite, enhancement happens when you change polarising direction by turning the filter. Since your subject is quite curvy, I don't think polariser will cover it all simply because reflections polarisation usually...

Darktable Free Raw Software/ Alternative to LightRoom

I have tried it a few times - its good though slightly different. The RawTherapee is a bit closer to Lightroom imho and a bit more stable.
