I have one of those too. It doesn't have that silly clip mechanism of the 85mm job, which is what explodes...

The clip on mechanism of the second chinese lens hood for my Canon 85mm has just disintegrated. :eek: If I spend money on a proper Canon hood, will it do the same after a few months?

A friend of mine had problems with a 550D just out of warranty and Canon still fixed it. It has more problems now though. On the other hand my wife has the same camera (bought when they first came out) and no problems at all.

I wondered about one of these. Put on my 40mm pancake and ditch my Powershot G12?

I have the nifty fifty and I'm always pleased with what it does...but having paid £118 from Procamera for the pancake its a close call which is best value. This is straight out of my 5D Mk1

I tried to take a Gorrilapod up the Empire State. They spotted it when they X- rayed by bag and took it off me. :(

The 1.4X gives autofocus on my 40D with this lens. I ditched a 2X when I found it didn't.

There are quite a few spots at Oulton where 200mm is adequate, and clear of fences. I have the lens we are talking about. Some examples are to be found in my motorsport folders on Flickr.
