My go to, especially for Mull, are Craghopper Kiwi Pro. I don’t like waterproof trousers when doing otters as often waterproof trousers rustle and don’t stretch. Kiwi Pros are light enough that they dry quickly.

Yep as John says you will struggle more in the summer as they stick to the canopies. They come down more in the winter when there is less to eat in the canopy
