The Ultimate Car Rig Photography Thread!

My nephew decided to visit (he's into his photography) so using bits and pieces we had a quick hour or so messing about on the road. Using bits I had lying around, and some pipes, some clamps and some duct tape all played their part in what was good fun. The photos are crap, his camera...

    Amazing Go Pro movie

Great video - but I doubt if that was all Go Pro/Contour type stuff.

    Any Canon G1X users here?

You're not alone. Got one as a 'beer drinking camera'. Really like the solid feel to it and it fits in a pocket (admittingly) a slightly larger pocket. Image quality is also very good. Agree with the close focussing - which so far is the only let down. The neighbours kids like the...

A run up the country. Timelapse.

Thanks for the comments folks. Can't remember to be honest - probably a couple of glasses of wine if you're looking for a random time. Quite quickly when all you're doing is selecting 1000 images in a folder and letting the software do it's thing, multiply that by 11 and you're done...

A run up the country. Timelapse.

A run from Kent to near Aberdeen. Contour HD camera mounted via a sucker mount onto the inside of the windscreen, with it set to capture a picture every three seconds. It was a ten hour journey, so I had 11,000 odd pictures to deal with at the end of the journey. Luckily the Contour can...

Anyone used or know anything about this site?

You've said it yourself. Too good to be true would be my guess and a quick check on Google confirms it.

Uk weather met office are RUBBISH

As you might have guessed - I'm one of the non-believers. I too have my sources for information and certainly the IPCC are not one of them. However one of the original reviewers of the IPCC original report is a good source for information...

Uk weather met office are RUBBISH

I wouldn't say so. The same basic fundementals are there - all aspects of the climate, albeit in a smaller scale so I don't believe you can treat these as different branches of science - they're all about predicting what the environment is going to be like. If, as you say the weather...

Uk weather met office are RUBBISH

IF they can't tell us what's happening accurately in the next week I distrust any information thats rammed down our throats about what the climates going to be like in 10, 20, 50 year. Climate Change is just an opportunity to tax us more.

    Mac Slideshow/Image Cataloguing s/w?

Why not use the rating feature in Iphoto. Rate the keepers as say 5 - and the ones you want to delete as a 2. Then View, Sort Photos by rating. Highlight all the 2's and then CTRL click on the image and Move to Trash. Job done.

    LIFE (BBC one show)..

If they couldn't film it otherwise then it wasn't Life was it ? The thing that stood out for me was it wasn't Life - it was a fake Life shot in a studio. Impressed with the skills involved but to spend that amount of time for something that wasn't real seemed to be a waste when compared to...

    LIFE (BBC one show)..

When I was watching it (prior to them showing how it was shot) I was impressed with the positioning and original choice of where the camera would be. When I saw the bit showing it's all a fake and bluescreened to death I felt cheated - what I saw was a great bit of footage had been...

    What's your desktop background?

Mine currently is using this.. Which whilst it is pretty boring, if I put it in the context of where my screen is it starts to make sense. I must shoot it properly one day..

    wedding tog sued

Don't think he's exactly new - Did a quick bit of digging and it seems that he's been operating as a tog since 2007 - it's a pity his websites gone off the air - and there are no images on the wayback machine to see his standard. He did get reported for his incompetence in packaging up kids...
