    Cheers Daniel for that input. What would you, from your experience, say are the practically implied differences between the nikon 70-300 VR and VR II. The VR II delivers stunning results and have read all good reviews of them. They seem to be considerably more expensive than the former as well?

    Where do I find the time

    Pretty much, sums it all up mate. As long as you (roughly/vaguely) what each button on the camera is supposed to do, take it out with you and go for a drive mate. Then, make a hunch and test out practically the functionality. You live it and learn it.
