Film Photographer of the Year 2020, July - Stranger Portrait - ***POINTS & STANDINGS***

Martin ain't a stranger, but the pic was (arguably) taken in a strange way. Rather than use a proper lens, I gaffer-taped a -4 diopter trial lens like they use in an opticians over the mounting hole of my camera, then held a large magnifying glass a few inches away, Freelensing, perhaps. I used...

Film Photographer of the Year 2020 May - Patterns & Structures in Nature - ***RESULTS & STANDINGS***

My tiny cactus, shot on a sunny day with a Nikon FE2, 60mm Micro-Nikkor, some s***ty cheap extension tubes that have a tendency to seize / hold the lens captive, on Agfapan APX 25 some decades out of date, and a tripod (obviously). Squirted it with water to make it a bit more sparkly.

Film Photographer of the Year 2020 April - RUIN - Entry Thread. ***RESULTS & STANDINGS***

My neighbour has an apple tree that hangs over the shared fence, and every year each and every apple gets colonised by some kind of fly or wasp. So these tempting apples are inedible unless you like chomping on half a maggot, which I have done more than once, despite checking very thoroughly for...

New Old Film Challenge discussion thread

It probably wasn't her fault though, some of those 110 cameras were terrible. I bought my girlfriend one that even had a slide-across tele lens, but she kept beheading with it and declared it rubbish. The stupid viewfinder had godawful aiming issues if you weren't exactly square onto it. It...

Love this! It's the wallpaper/the ties/the tables/the crockery/the hair/but mostly what the guy on the right is wearing. That shirt, tie and cardigan combo is epic and brings back some memories!
