Actually, reding some of the above replies, I had an idea... I might be able to find a nut of the same size thread of the tripod, glue it to the base of the camera. Won't look pretty but should work...?? A good strong epoxy glue should do, what do you chaps reckon?

Cheers Rob, I've just had a very close look, never noticed before, but it looks like the plate with the thread in is indeed a seperate piece, there looks to be 4 tiny screws holding it in. I might be lucky here... Many thanks to you both. Cliff.

I had a slight accident with my camera a few months ago, basically I managed to rip my tripod out of the bottom of the camera. I have stripped the thread from inside the 'screw' bit where the tripod attaches. Do any of you good folks have any suggestions as to how to repair it, or are there...

Thanks pd, I've done a search for "Minolta AF" in the sales section, but the amount of results with all sorts of lenses listed was staggering, plus, I'm no expert, not by a long chalk... I might think I'm looking at the correct item, but.... E-bay sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a try...
