I have a medical based degree, and have looked into this role before, I would love to work in medical illustration but just haven't got round to doing the photography qualifications needed for it yet. Maybe one day!

Hello Pinkjay, fancy seeing you here! Enjoying it so far, but looking forward to my Dummies guide arriving in a couple of days so I can get my head around some of the more complicated stuff! Put up a couple of photos on flickr today, focus seems OK (fingers crossed!).

I mainly use manual, unless it's just a quick shot (eg for selling an item on the net). If I leave my husband in charge it has to be in auto though, he's great with bikes but clueless about using a camera!

Got my D7000 today, thanks to my husband haggling with the man in the camera shop to bring it down to a good price. Battery is charged up and I've just had a quick play, but really need to sit down and look at it carefully tomorrow, so much to take in after the d5000

Is it a kit lens? Probably a 52mm diameter, but best to check by looking at the bottom of the lens cap, I can pull up an ebay link for you then.
