    Honestly, the D40 is a really great camera - may only be 6 megapixies but it produces some nice images. I've just bought a 16-85VR and will see how it produces with that.

    But then factor in the weight of a 2.8 lens if you're going to carry it all day. I have the 24-85 2.8 and just bought a 16-85 not just for the extra length but the lighter weight.

    The 55-200 is an absolute cracker lens - these pics taken on a D40. Lightning fast autofocus and great depth of image. Love it.
