It's very promising. The Beta is a bit buggy (as you'd expect) but the team seem to respond to bug reports impressively quickly.
It renders quickly and there's evolving plug-in support. I suspect I shall be ditching Photoshop when it's released.
The statement that Apple were working with Adobe to help the transition to Lightroom was originally posted on TechCrunch (which is where the story broke) but that statement has since been withdrawn. Adobe however are increasing their support to aid migration.
