If we get the usual pattern then we don't really get proper snow here in the Peaks til end Jan/early Feb. Having said that we've been getting some right wierd weather over the last few years ! If we get a damp westerly then it will be dreich. If we get a blocking high it will be wonderful.

Agree with the points re aperture above. Also, be specific about focus. Always focus where *you* want the field to start and use an aperture that is appropriate for the field you want to capture. Don't let the camera decide for you. One other point is that from the shot it appears that the...
One more thought on this - just be aware of the position of the sun. At this time of year, 5pm-ish you'll be looking into the sun to shoot from that position. The sun will get 'round out of the shot by about 8:00pm. Worth checking an ephemeris for precise timing.
Just bear in mind that although the land to the east of the barn is access land - and accessible via a public footpath - the field to the west of the barn, between the barn and roach end, is private land. Plenty to explore in the access section anyway.

No problem, Barry. It has been running a bit high recently. I think it is at it's best when the water is relatively low but I've shot it at all times of year and there's always something of interest at all focal lengths.
