sigma 30mm f1.4 of 50mm f 1.4 ?

Never tried the 30mm, though I've seen test shots. I've found the 50mm superb, so I can recommend it whole-heartedly.

Best Prime under £250??

The 50mm f/1.4 HSM from Sigma is superb, if you search around on ebay you may find it within budget.
