    weekly Chris_C's 52 for 2012 Week 3 sigh added

This catching up thing hasn't quite gone as I'd hoped, as my TZ8 seems to have gone astray over the last couple of days, and it's definitely not where I left it. Anyway, here is my cliche of week 3 sigh. Fear will come, as will sweet! Chris

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I quite like it, but I'm still new to this, so please forgive the sun. I'm sure I will get better (P.S. what can I do to overcome the sun issue?) I'm going to start my big catch up this week. I have photos, just need to edit one, and upload them.

Right then, time to try and play catch up!! Here we go with week 1, direction. Probably quite cliche, but I like it. I'm going to run a week (or 2) behind until I have more time, then I'll try and catch up! Chris

Hi all, thanks for the support :D. I'm having to hold off this week, having a disaster with uni work. But seeing as I haven't posted yet, I'm guessing (hoping) I can still do the 52, just finishing a week later than everyone else :P. Chris

I'll give this a go. First time I've tried anything like it! Final year of uni...I must be mad! I'm hoping this will help me learn how to use my camera a bit better! I'll initially give myself 6 jokers, mainly to cover the summer months as I may be away so unable to post an image. Let's see...

New gear for a Nikon D3100?

Comments taken on board, thanks to both of you! I might see if I can have a play with a 35mm in Jessops... Any thoughts on the filters? Would the cokin P-series suit me? Chris

New gear for a Nikon D3100?

Hi all, and Merry Christmas :) With the day now over, I have money burning a hole in my pocket, and I think I fancy some new gear for my camera. I have about £200 to spend, but I just don't know what to get. I've so far looked at the cokin P series and Z-pro series filters (the P series...

    Hi everyone!

I've posted a few times already, but I'm new here! I'm a transportation design student from Northumbria University, in Newcastle. Photography is just one of the things I want to improve on! I've just bought myself a Nikon D3100, with the kit lens, a Tamron 70-300mm lens (with macro), and now...

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

It's great! Used it for the first time at rally GB and managed to get a fair few decent (and most importantly, in focus) shots with it. I'm very pleased so far!! Need to keep playing to get used to it though, it's a big step up from my point and click camera... I'll put some pictures up soon.

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

Well, I went to Jessops, spent a good hour and a bit in there, was talked to by two lovely ladies; and walked away with a Nikon D3100, Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD Macro 1:2, some uv filters, a bag, and a lens cleaning kit, and 3 year product protection, for £650. Considerably over budget, but I...

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

Size isn't an issue really. I'm intending on keeping my compact, but I am after something better to actually go out photographing.

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

I've been having a look, and for my price range, I seem to keep coming back to the k-r and the Olympus E-PL1. If I were to stretch my budget to £550, then I can get my hands on a Canon EOS 500D, with a twin lens kit. Or a 550D (only with one lens), which seems to be amazing for video...

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

Thanks for the replies so far. Not really. Just so far, I've only really been looking at new cameras, and it's mainly the 4/3rd cameras that seem to fall into my price range. Caravanwalks, yes, I had seen your topic, and it has allowed me to look at a few more ideas! I did have a look at...

Buying a new camera. £400 to spend

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new camera. I have about £400 to spend. (That can be stretched a bit if necessary) I currently have a Panasonic Lumix TZ8, which I find to be a really good compact camera, but I'm after something with a bit more, erm, ability. So, what do I want from the...
