The 50mm F1.8 (nifty 50) is hardly ever off the front of mine. I like my kit 18-135 but you really can't beat this one for the money (approx £75-£100). Well worth considering

Have you held either of them? There is a totally different feel. I think if you got the 650D you'd always be a little bit disappointed.
Also, I'd say very important is a speed light. I just got the EX430 II and I absolutely love it. Totally transforms your indoor photography.
There's no rush. Just start snapping away. I find it quite good to watch youtube videos too and always try and learn new techniques to put into practice. It's a hobby after all.
I really rate the 18-135. You'll love the weighty feel of the 60D too. I took mine along to a work xmas do last night and I think about 3 people are now going to buy one on the strength of the photos I produced. Dark restaurant, no flash, nifty 50 set to F2.8. Great!
Definitely go down by the river. There is a lovely suspension bridge. It's best to go on the far side and look back across towards the city because there are some great houses. Also "the steps" which is a stepped weir usually has some canoeists doing their thing.

OK, so I just got a canon lens hood for both my lenses. They came with crappy filters but I'll probably just keep them for when I'm in the desert ;)
Cheers for the heads up fellas
Are those ND filter packs worth it where you can slot numerous different square filters into one adapter?
As the title suggest I've just got these 2 lenses but no filters for them.
Has anyone got any suggestions for good UV filters as I have no idea where to start. So many makes, so many sizes, such a difference in price :gag:
PS I tried searching but couldn't think of good enough search terms
