    self employed and mortgages

That's how I ended up actually. Well with the woolwich which is Barclays anyway. Got all my banking through them though personal and business. I would recommend IFA though. It shouldn't cost you anything and its in their interests to get the application through so they should do the heavy lifting.

    self employed and mortgages

I've been self employed (director of ltd company) for about 11 years. First couple of mortgage arrangements were easy as I just did self cert which of course they have stopped now as they are utter madness really. Last remortgaged 2 years ago when we converted the loft. We used an IFA which...

    Beware Cowboy Cavity Wall Insulation

What was it that made the properties unsuitable? I must admit we've been tempted to have this done as our place does get cold in depths of winter but stuff like damp worries has put me off. I assume the new insulation can just bridge the cavity and so if the outer leaf gets excessive moisture it...

    Indoor Shot under Sodium Lights

Another quick question - obviously the gi he wears is white - am I likely to blow that out totally or should I spot meter off it - I know other stuff will then underexpose a bit.

    Product photography

I'd be surprised if it cant be used tethered - I have the 550d and I can use that tethered via the EOS Utility (one of the bundled bits of software anyway) - as far as I know you can pretty much run the camera from your PC.

    Indoor Shot under Sodium Lights

Ceiling has got to be 30ft at least! It's a sports hall and it has beams etc. colour I think is dark as I guess it's a metal roof of some sort.

    Indoor Shot under Sodium Lights

At the weekend my son is being graded for his black belt in Karate - all being well and he passes I want to get a good clear shot of him receiving his belt from his sensei. The dojo is actually the local community centre sports hall. The light in there is awful - mid green painted walls and I...

    Top 10 photography bucket list.

Have done 1 albeit with a rubbish compact about 8 years ago - need to go back now I've got a DSLR although I'd be worried about the camera. It was -35c when we were there (Olos, Finnish Lapland) though the guide said that's what made the Lights so clear because the sky was cloudless hence the...

    What to shoot in Warwick

If you go to the castle at certain times in the summer they do some mock fighting, a jousting tournament, and even fire the trebuchet if you fancy some action shooting as well as crumbly building shooting. Although it's getting dark by the time the jousting starts so you'd need a decent fast...

    Barcelona. Safe?

It is a great city - Las Ramblas can be manic - but plenty of photo ops - you'll never see so many live animals for sale in one place and there is always some good street entertainment. Have a look at the Pacsafe range of bags etc if you are worried - they do slashproof / secure bags that are...

    Celeb Snapping

About 10 years ago got Posh & Becks at Legoland Windsor - think that was on an old APS camera though so I'll have to find the snaps and scan them! Funny thing was we were walking round and there was a woman on her own looked just like Posh - I even remarked to my wife "Who does she think she...

    DSLR Boot Camp

Does anyone know which Flickr group we are supposed to use - there seems to be a 2010 and a 2011 one, both with recent shots added! Also I've never done anything like this before - what do you recommend for white / black backgrounds - would card / paper be good enough?
