No need to apologise for finding this crime to be abhorrent. I do too. I was simply pointing out the facts about the sentence, not putting forward any kind of defence for these people.

I agree with Dave. It's an excellent suggestion. If you use budget hotels (travelodge etc) you could make it go a long way, and get to see some interesting parts of the country. It's something I would love to do given the time.

I've got the 70 - 300 VR, and I like it a lot. It is easy to use, focuses quickly and to my eye produces good pictures. That said, I don't have much to compare it with, being a beginner.
