Since I bought my camara its become a real passion. If I'm honest I'm using the auto mode mote than I'd want to. I think it boils down to confidence and the amount of time it takes me to set the camera up for each shot.
The wheel on the back of the xxd models looks a lot quicker for changing...

I'm trying to buy a flash but the amount of jargon out there confuses me. I have a Canon 500d, have I got it right that the flash I need should have E-TTL if I want it to auto focus. I'm looking at maybe buying the YN-465 flash speedlite.

Was about to purchase a cheap battery grip for my Canon 500D however my boss just told me that cheap brands destroy your camara? Is there any truth in this, can't say I've heard it mentioned before.
