Thanks very much Rob, particularly that last post. I had a chance to play with a D70 recently and as you allude to I found it very easy to use initially and was quickly using the functions intuitively in near zero light. It says a lot that a DSLR newbie can achieve "good" results in near pitch...

Cheers Dave, It is just that reviewers tend to lean towards the D70s having great "potential" image quality, after processing. With Canon there is no potential mentioned, nor processing.
