    Telescopes to use with cameras

Hi all, I am a keen photographer and regular user of this site but I'm just wondering if anyone knew anything about telescopes and what might be a good quality entry level telescope? My fiancee has always wanted one and hopefully we are about to buy a house on a hill so I think the time might...

    tavel tripod

Hi there, I'm off travelling at the end of the year and am looking for a lightweight but sturdy tripod. I know this thread existed by in 2011 but wondered if anyone had any more recent advice. I have just bought a black rapid strap, so a manfrotto would be great as I could easily take the...

    'Q' strap

I have the black rapid for women but am looking to sell it and replace it with the curve strap as I prefer the clip on the back of the curve, whereas the women's strap has more of a quick release length adjustment.

    Artifacts from Nikon 1.8 50mm

I was wondering if anyone could explain why I am seeing reflected bits of light in my night time shots with my new 50mm 1.8f Nikon lens. For example, bright signs from shops reflected in a completely different part of the photo but slightly fainter, or the light from street lamps reflected in...

Need advice - black spot when taking photos

You're not the only one. I did exactly the same thing and changed lenses and it disappeared. It took an age before I discovered it was at different apertures that it appeared. therefore make sure, that if you have someone do this for you, test it at different apertures. A camera shop charged me...

    Buying Used Lenses

I purchased a sigma 10-20mm from the classifieds section on this website for approximately half price and it had only been used twice for studio shoots. Highly recommend keeping an eye on this site. Also, if you live close to the person you can always check it before handing over the money. I...

Thanks to the ladies out there for your comments on whether the female version of the strap is recommended. Just bough one at the weekend and it should be here tomorrow , so will be able to go out and about and practice at the weekend. Can't wait!

Nikon VR 70-300mm OR Nikon DX VR 55-300mm

Thanks so much guys for all of your help. I used to be a member of this site but forgot my details and had to re-register. I'd forgotten what a supportive forum it was. Thanks so much. Going to opt for the 55-300 second hand I think.

    Straps!

Any women out there with a Black Rapid woman's strap? I'm wondering if I should go for one over the standard RS-7 curve strap, or whether the RS-7 curve strap will do? Cheers, Cammie

Nikon VR 70-300mm OR Nikon DX VR 55-300mm

Hi there, I'm off travelling at the end of the year and really want to buy a telephoto lens to take with me. I'm on a budget and not keen on taking anything really expensive away. I may upgrade to Full frame (camera and lenses) in a couple of years, so my thinking was buy a Nikon VR 55-300...

    nikon 70mm-300mm or alternative ?

Does anyone know how much heavier / bigger the 70-300vr FX is compared to the 55-300 DX lens? I was under the impression the FX lenses are heavier and larger I am after a telephoto lens as I'm going travelling at the end of the year but I'm trying to keep the weight down as I will already have...
