    I would maybe try a polarizer? you can always give the colours a wee boost by editing them, specify a different grey point ect if you took them as a .RAW

    Auto mode is my first guess, put it in Shutter priority and have another go. Failing that are you manual or auto focusing? viewfinder or live view?? Your viewfinder may be out of focus twiddle with the knob on the right of the eye rest to sharpen it up!
