Thanks, everyone for the replies. Don't think remapping the button is possible on my camera - will give Sony a call. I think I can guarantee it would never work again if I tried to fiddle with it. Good to hear positive things about Sony service.

Hi all. My Sony A580 display button has started to fail - now have to press it really hard to get it to function. Anyone any idea if this is likely to be economic to get repaired, or if it can be replaced by myself? Really like the camera and don't want to have to get a new one. Cheers, Burry

Anyone used Sony Alpha BBF? My A580 seems to lock exposure when I press the back button as well as focus, so if I press it and recompose I can get the exposure quite wrong at times. I have found that with my old sony A230, I couldn't tell the difference between images taken with my (rather cheap) UV filter and those taken without. With my newer A580, the images are definitely softer taken with the filter in place. It almost looks like the camera has trouble focussing...
