    Sigma SD1 price drop...tempted?

Sigma finally fess up and drop the SD1 price.....http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/02/08/Sigma_SD1_Merrill_price_drop Now as a SD15 owner and Foveon fan (I know, I know, leave me alone right :suspect:) I'm a bit tempted to buy one now the price looks more realistic, anybody else?

Now, so far, this 'ere is a very interesting and informative thread, thanks for the input guys (you know who you are....) Accreditation? Hmmmm, I'll settle for a free BSB ticket on any Summer Saturday as Sunday (race day) is waaaay too busy for me  I'll contribute one small but highly...

    Lens Creap

Another vote here for the lensband, I have one on me Bigma and it works great. As already said, you simply "slew" it between the zoom ring and a fixed part of the lens body, if you get about a 50/50 overlap you can't even force it with your hand, great stuff.

    How do you learn languages?

So you knew him then? Git or not, I found his techniques simple and quite useful. It's just a pity that I'm never gonna have a realistic chance to get the real time exposure I need to become a reasonable Spanish speaker. IMO, evening classes are a total waste of time and money, speaking...

    How do you learn languages?

I think the very best way by far is total immersion, it's certainly the quickest as you're forced to speak the language in some form 24/7. Having said that, I've found the Michel Thomas CD's quite useful for applying tenses and generic morphing of Verbs. (I used the Spanish one)

Which New point and shoot camera?

Stick with the TZ10.....IMO there just isn't another camera yet that could be considered a worthwhile "upgrade". If you don't mind a serious drop in zoom range then perhaps the new Canon S100, but I suspect you'd miss the extra reach.....

    Motorsport lens help

Another vote here for the Sigma 100-300 f4 EX and a 1.4X TC, the Sigma is pretty much made for motorsport IMO and with the TC makes a decent 420mm f5.6, and it retains AF. It's a bit of a lump but built like a tank and very well balanced especially when you have a grip on as well. The only...

    Canon EOS 7D Owners Thread

Blimey, so going by that, it's even more important to fill the frame with the main subject, otherwise there's a pretty good chance the focus will be off/missed, or switch to spot AF when the subject is too far away to mostly fill the frame

    7D + Telescope... Help!!!

My Meade scope has a knob you have to turn to divert the image from the scope eyepiece to the rear/camera mount, perhaps yours has one also?

    Marco Simoncelli RIP

Marco was my "favourite", he's the guy I was rooting for all season, skilled and fearless racer, total character and all round good egg. I still can't quite believe he's gone....... God bless you Marco.

iphone 4s video compared to Canon 5dMK II

Now this bit really tickles me  Couldn't agree more, but.......Maybe this'll be more relevant when the new iPhone 4SX Turbo VVT Bling Woodscrew Spoiler comes out with interchangeable lenses (woodscrew mount of course)
