Quick question, do most people set the auto focus mode manually e.g single or continuous depending on the subject, or does the automatic setting generally get it right?

Just tested, it does the same thing. Underexposes with a wider aperture.

I'm having an odd issue with my A450 and Jessops flashgun, when I set the aperture to f4 and bounce the flash off the ceiling it seems to expose the shot properly, but if I set the aperture to f1.8 I get a dark underexposed picture, why would allowing more light in make the shot darker? The...

Could just be the lighting but your bag doesn't even seem to be made out of the same material, does seem to be a different bag.

It's not a mistake, though the one on Jessops site has a 2nd lens included the 55-200 but that lens is only around £150. I got that camera for £299 a few weeks ago, compared to the A290 it has a better sensor, better high ISO performance and also has higher ISO settings, can do continuous...

I've had my A450 for a few weeks and I'm getting to grips with it, I was wondering what people do about exposure compensation? I've read that Alpha's over expose a little and should be toned down a little to like -0.3, is this true or should I just leave it at 0 for most shots?

I'd personally get the Tamron 17-50 then perhaps get the Tamron 55-200 to cover the other ranges, the 55-200 is a pretty cheap lens, I got mine for £60, but they only sell for around £100 new and the quality is a lot better than the price suggests.
