    Bl**dy Fieldfare

I split the food back up onto the two boards I used previously and placed them about 15' apart, he's still trying to keep it all for himself but losing the battle:) Might add my one loves banana he scoff's it down like there's no tomorrow!

    Bl**dy Fieldfare

Last few days I've been going heavy on the bird food as the grounds covered in snow, I started off with a couple of sheets of ply laid on the snow but the wind just blew the food off, it either disappeared beneath surrounding snow or just gone in the wind. I brought my builders spot thing in...

Will an old film camera lens fit?

Been offered an old Nikkor 600mm lens not cheap cheap but compared to digital lenses it's cheap. I have a D80 and wondered about problems I might have, will it fit? I know it'll be manual focus but what other issue's. Thanks in advance. Brian

    Osprey or Black Kite

Great pic Somelier but now 100% not what we saw [ours had a lot of white feather detail showing]. When we spotted the bird coming in from the left in front of us then as we got closer immediately above and in good sight before we passed under, I assumed it to be a black kite because it was...

    Osprey or Black Kite

I'm in Chatham Kent and don't know when I'm likely to get back up that way, so gutted I didn't have my camera but it's just to big [and expensive] to have on a working trip:(

    Osprey or Black Kite

Hi salacalvet Thanks for posting the pic's and I didn't see one of those so it looks like I saw my first Osprey:D I should have taken my camera with me but it was helping a mate move in and just didn't think it would be safe, not the first time I've seen something good and not had a...

    Osprey or Black Kite

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I only cross birds off my list when I've got a picture of them so other than a possible sighting my totals for different species remain the same:( still was was great to see whatever it was;) Cheers all Brian

    Osprey or Black Kite

Hi and thanks for your speedy replies:) It wasn't a buzzard as I have seen these not closely but plenty of times at similar distances, it definitely wasn't red or brown but did have a forked tail or what appeared to be forked. because or the tail I'd said to my friend straight off that it was...

    Osprey or Black Kite

Hi all While my friend and I were driving home from Huddersfield yesterday [him driving me watching out for birds of prey;)] I spotted what I thought must be a Black Kite, we got really close to this bird as it was heading over the A1 [m] close enough to see colour patterns and feather...

    Neck pad or padded strap

Thanks for the links/tips Richard:thumbs: I'd only come up with the padded bits Halfords sell the boy racers for their seat belts. Will look into them and cheers Brian

    Neck pad or padded strap

You got it:thumbs: It's only a thin strap fitted to the bottom of the lens, I wear it round my neck so if I slip or fall I've got my hands free and hopefully where I try and keep my head up the camera won't hit the floor:eek: I was hoping I could buy some sort of pad that velcro'd round...

    Neck pad or padded strap

Just checked that out Mark and it attaches to the tripod fixing point, I have my monopod attached to the lens mount and if I fit this type of strap to my camera I doubt my D80 could handle the weight of the lens. Thanks for the suggestion though and the helps appreciated:) Brian
