    I would do either what Pete says above or use 2 CDs. You could always try a reduction in size of the images in Photoshop, do a batch orgaise thing, for example save them as 11 quality not 12 or make them a bit smaller. Do 30 at a time or something, make sure you keep the originals thou Also...

    Nice link that Gr8Shot Those white balance lens cap things, i got one from some Chinesse seller on ebay who sent me the wrong thing. I was a bit annoyed at the time and threw it in a draw, a year or so later i actually started to use it and have found its real useful!

    Same, takes a few mins to look at the JPEG and you can see what shot if any you don't need, delete them then work on the ones you do. I shoot the smallest JPEG i can.

    You could try looking on flickr at shots taken from where you going and see what lens they used perhaps? a lot of places can be funny about tripods sadly, health and safty issues they have, hope you get some decent shots either way

    you could try getting a bag of those small silica packs that absorb moisture? them little things you find in shoes...etc when you get them new, that might help.
