Has anyone had problems buying an entry bundle for the BPOTY comp on Photocrowd? The button doesn't seem to work for me. Thank.

Canon 1D X Mk II Owners Thread

If you have to boost the sharpening to compensate for a softer lens, this will make the noise more visible as you will sharpen the noise too.

    CANON SPEEDLITE ADVICE

Hi George. I believe the 420EX is wireless compatible so you may be able to set the pop-up flash on the 600D as a master and the 420EX as the slave for wireless flash on a bracket.

    Canon 50mm f1.4 or 85mm f1.8 on 6D

85mm f1.2, you know it makes sense!

I suspect cs6 isn't touch screen compatible. Photoshop cc is, but then that's extra cost for you.

Camera set to tungsten white balance in error

Hi, my wife accidentally shot some daylight jpgs with the camera set to tungsten white balance and of course they are too blue. I've tried several methods to colour correct including Open as RAW in PhotoShop. Can anyone help with a reliable method? Thanks.

Canon EOS 5 Ds r non listed lenses

With a 50mp 5DS-R, the lens will be the limiting factor on image quality as at this level, the sensor out resolves the lens., This means that you will not get anywhere near the full 50mp resolution. The lenses on Canon's positive list are the best and will give the best performance on this body...

    Canon W-e1 wifi card

The benefit of this card over third party versions is that it connects to Canon software to control the camera remotely. You'll need to update the camera's firmware first though.

    300mm canon lens

The focal length of the lens is still 300mm, but the crop factor means that it gives the effect of a 600mm lens. Exposure wise it will still be f4, but the depth of field will be more like f8.

Do not use these types of suet ball feeders! (May upset some)

Even worse, there are actually two birds in there.

Wish they'd do one for wildlife photography too. Perhaps we could build our own here?

    secondhand 500mm f4

A 600mm f4 is better still. I'd go for that, then you have 100-400mm, 560mm, 600mm and 840mm. You could even get a 2x to make a massive 1200mm reach.

    Birds in Flight

Using a zone AF can help, because then you are not restricted to keeping a single spot on your subject. Also, change tracking sensitivity to -1 so that it locks on and doesn't jump to the background. You'll need to change your AF zones depending on background though. Zone AF is less effective...

    Canon 1.3x Crop Sensor.

Not sure what you photograph, but one major drawback of the 1DIV is the 1.3 crop which means you lose the wide angle lenses, but can't use the ef-s wides to compensate. Not an issue of course if you only ever use teles. If you have a 24-70mm, the wide end becomes 32mm for example.
