    R1C1 - best for macro?

Hi guys, back again, I'm more or less sold on the idea of getting this set up, but just want to make sure I'm getting the right equipment for what I want to shoot. I'll be shooting mainly flowers either indoors or in-situ (depending on the weather!). I've not ruled out the occasional 'pretty'...

    R1C1 - best for macro?

Nice work! Are there any advantages having the su-800 in addition for any other type of photography? What sort of price would I be looking at for just the R1? I've started looking and so far my best find is around the just-under-400 mark

    R1C1 - best for macro?

Hi, I have a nikon D200 and a sigma 105mm macro lens and I'm mulling over getting the R1C1. Is this the best bit of kit to go for when considering macro / closeup work? If so can anyone show me some examples of photos taken with the R1C1? Thanks.

    Flash & Close-up

Thanks guys. I'd be interested in more feedback about ring flashes. In the mean time I can borrow a SB800 to have a play. I just need to get reading about flash in general as I'm completely confused about all the different settings on my camera and what they mean and thats before I go anywhere...

    Flash & Close-up

I'm researching the idea of using flash with close-up/macro work. Up until now I've always assumed that using flash was a no no :nono: for this type of work as it creates such an artificial look. However I'm beginning to wonder if it would make my life a bit easier as its sometimes impractical...

Zoom portraiture lens, quick advice needed

Cheers  Sorry about the rush but I had a phone call saying that they wanted a suggestion of what lens to order with the camera. The order had to be phoned through by 4pm so it can get here tomorrow. Anyway I think they went for the nikon 18-135mm in the end. Thanks for the reply

Does anyone know the going rate for the Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro Lens - Nikon Fit. The cheapest I've found so far is £248, is there anywhere else that can beat that? (new) Thanks

Sigma 70-300mm Macro vs 105mm Macro

No, I used it on a tripod with the mirror-up. Your experience with this lens sounds like mine. I've not got the best lighting at the mo. (only on light and 25w halogen) but I still expected more. Maybe this lens will be better suited outdoors. Thanks for the info on the 105mm  It...

Sigma 70-300mm Macro vs 105mm Macro

One more thought, I was told this in another thread regarding the 70-300mm. The D200 has a smaller sensor than a 35mm frame and this will give your lenses a narrower field of view (also called a "Crop Factor"), on the Nikon Dx sensor, this will be 1.5x so your 70-300 (on the D200) will have...

Sigma 70-300mm Macro vs 105mm Macro

Thats why I can't understand that every picture I take looks so fuzzy. Sure I can get some degree of sharpness but the overall effect just looks so off compared to the beautiful flower pictures I've been seeing on here over the last few days. :suspect: I'm sure its something I must be doing...
