I bought a 10-20mm Sigma for my Nikon a couple of months back. Apart from the occasional odd distortion at 10mm I have been very pleased with it. Although I've not had any experience with the Tokina lens :)
It depends which way you come from Stockport. If you came over Winnats pass and then went through to Bamford and then upto Ladybower then you can return over Snake Pass and go in a large circle.
There is Mam Tor near to Winnats Pass which if you are feeling lazy you can park nearby and walk...
I found the same problems. My skies were blown and on the rare occasion they weren't my foreground was really dark.
I bought a Cokin ND8 grad filter and also found that using a circular polariser helped bring out a much bluer sky. :)
I would have thought in public you could sell pictures of anything you had taken. I know its a bit of an extreme example but would Network Rail have to be contacted about the sale for a shot of the Forth Rail Bridge?
I suppose the argument is about the presence of the logo though? Even so I...
Never had any problems with AVG apart from the 'go slow' when its scanning!
You can change your options on AVG to stop it scanning everytime you boot up. It kept doing the same with mine so I just changed it to weekly (although I probably only let the full scan run every couple of weeks...
I've been meaning to ask the same question (in respect of travelling). Planning a long trip round Latin America next year and was thinking about the best way to cover my camera gear from the unknown. :suspect:
I currently have contents insurance but would be renting my house out (hopefully...
I think the main reason I am heading towards this lens is that in 99% of the landscape shots I have taken which have actually been any good, I have wanted to be able to take a wider shot than my 18-55 has allowed. Each time I feel that I have missed out on the full shot.
Thanks all for your advice :) I have to be honest and say I'm not sure if I have the wide angle mount or not for the P-series. It's the one that they had at Jessops at the time, currently being used with a step up ring for my standard 18-55 Nikor kit lens.
I think I'll be taking the plunge...
Been debating about getting the Sigma 10-20mm lens for my Nikon D40 for sometime. I take alot of landscape shots and after reading alot of advice from other people I feel that this would be a good lens to go for.
Does anyone have any experience of using it with the D40? Is it worth the money...
I'm after a bit of advice as to where to start on the filter front. After doing some research into the different types available there seems to be alot!
On the photography level i'm a beginner who takes mainly landscape shots and I am constantly frustrated by the lack of blue reproduced in...
The problem is that alot of police officers don't know anything about photogaphy law and just assume that you can't take a picture of them because they don't want you to!
Of course, you can take pictures of nearly anything in public in the UK (few exceptions covered by Official Secrets Act...
I like the fact that you two Norfolk lads have 'mad' in your usernames! I should have themed mine the same!
My username is just the first 5 letters of my hotmail address (which poses the question why does my hotmail address start bongo I suppose :) ).
The answer to that is someone 'stole'...
I was deciding between these two cameras originally. The image stability was tempting but after having a play with them both I decided to go for the Nikon.
Everyones different though
I was actually told about the incident that was highlighted in Ipswich in Steve Randles post as I work with a family member of the person involved.
He was of the same opinion as the rest of us on here and as we both do the same work as Cowasaki ;) then I would not be deleting my photographs...
