Well I have ordered the 55-250mm stm and have just bought a Canon 60D so I can't wait for them to arrive I post a couple of pics when all the kit gets here

i have been looking at reviews for the new Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 Is STM Lens and it looks good so i may go this lens with the D40 body. do you think this combo would work?

Thanks for your replys, my budget is £400 I must admit I had not considered the 40/50/60d body, I might try to pick up a 40d and save up for the 70-300IS or even the 70-200F4 L

I own a canon 400d & 55-250 IS lens and want to improve my photos, I use it mainly for motor racing/Air shows , so would I be best upgrading my camera body to the 700d(5fps burst) against my current canon 400d(3fps), or the extra range of the 70-300mm IS?

I love the photo of the station a great mixture of stillness and movement :)
