i dont see soft defused light, all i see is mixed light, the camera hasn't given you much in the way of light in that image anyway.. you can see the harsh shadow on the back wall..
all that does is block light, so you're effectively shooting 1/2 a stop to a stop less light, nothing is defused the light source is still the same size, so its still harsh light..
the only time i would ever think about breaking out flash is at a metal night where even the fastest glass won't...
never copy and paste 1 high res into another unless you're making an action and there is no other way of getting the image from one document to another - it eats RAM
grab the layer (in the layers palette) and drag it to the document you want it to appear in - holding SHIFT will centre the image...
no point beating yourself up about clicks, as already stated, your shutter can fail at any time..
my 20D's shutter went after approx 89 clicks (1 year worth of photos) i had it repaired and its lasted since - its been 3.5 years since the shutter was last replaced..
i used to have 2 20D's...
i was happily walking around Crufts on Sunday with my 70-200 with 2x tele on and 17-50. not one official stopped me and asked what i was doing..
the website states you aren't allowed to use video or photography for Commercial use.
that would be an under exposed shot..
ok you're shooting at 1/8th of a second, the flash has frozen the shot at the end of the exposure.
best way to learn the ins and outs of aperture and shutter speed in photography is to put your camera in M (manual) and have full control over...
alternate way of doing 3rds is to use the PEN tool
in the options palette click on the custom shape icon and in the shape drop down select the grid.
click one end and drag it to the other and you'll get instant 3rds grid :)
how many gridlines do you want? - go into preferences and select Guides, Grid & Slices and put 33.33333 percent and you'll get the rule of 3rds ;)
make a new layer
grab the pencil tool, make it say 4px and then click on 1 side of the image (with whatever colour you want to use) hold down SHIFT...
