Thanks everyone - right its not going back in. !!!
Its an android and didn’t use google backup.
it was used as a place to write photos and vid to so they didn’t use up the phones space. At some point I changed the default save area for camera photos from phone to card but then also made other...
Next question. Is it safe to re format the card in the phone and carry on using it, starting from scratch. Or is it risky since it has suffered a corruption event.
Its a sandisk ultra 32GB micro
New update - it jumped from 11% to completed when my back was turned after around 1.40 hours. Out of about 700 images in files on the card it could not recover only about 80 I am wondering if those were in the file that caused to corruption.
Big thanks for all of your help :)
Recuver first found all the deleted files - some were unrecoverable but that didint matter as I didn’t want the deleted files I wanted the files that were on the card that 4 devices said was corrupted and I could not access. I then found an option in the recuver program to only look for un-...
Thanks yes I have seen Recuva mentioned a few times.
When I try to access it in the phone it says corrupted -I have an option would you like to make this card "removable media" or "internal storage" but as yet I have not gone down that route as I think that will format the card and loose...
Used in a phone for a few years no problem and suddenly cannot access the image folders on it and phone says card is corrupted. Tried it in another phone and that says the same. Put it in a card reader in the computer and norton started to scan it and I could see it running through its scan and...
Yep its just that I was getting a 3.0 pci card for faster back ups to an external HHD and was exploring if I also could benefit form faster speed from the camera but I would need a usb 3 cable but if the camera was usb 3 enabled then the cable supplied in its box would be usb 3 so there would be...
Thanks - I get that but wasn’t sure if the camera was 3.0 capable - turns out its not.
I actually quite like the slower speed and watching the image pop up in the preview screen as they get downloaded to the computer.
I have an older computer with usb 2.0 and thinking of fitting a USB 3.0 card but I have read somewhere - cant remember that the 5D mkii is only capable of USB 2.0 speeds. So no point in plugging into the 3.0 usb if I get one.
Is that right ?
Thanks

Getting deeper down this rabbit hole now. The £130-60 range a few have 4 to 6 android updates but only come with 4gb ram which I am not convinced is going to be enough with each and every new android update needing more ram to run.
Don't fancy a second hand one. Also it may already be 2 years old and maybe only 1 or 2 android updates left for it to receive. Whereas if I choose carefully I can get 4 -6 years updates. Getting android updates was not something I thought about last time I brought a phone in 2018 but if I had...
