Hi guys..It's been a while since I picked up a camera, but I am planning a trip to san Francisco for some street photography.
I want to also do some work in low light conditions.
I'll be taking a Canon EOS 1d MKIII and I need your help to pick which lenses to take as I don't want to be...
personally, i'd take f2.8 over reach and IS but the 24-105 f4 IS L is a cracking bit of glass for travel . I have both, the 24-105 on my 1dmkIII and the 24-70 f2.* on my 5d.
I think a 17-40 mm f4 L would do a good job for you, great build quality and really sharp at f4 across all focal lengths.
also the 16-35 mm f2.8 L, too...and the 24-105 mm f4 IS L and the workhorse 24-70 f2.8L but getting a good copy of that lens is very hit and miss.
i guess the only thing to say is that the 1dmkIII isn't a jack of all trades sort of camera..it's a master of all...once you use a pro body, you will be hooked.
