I have a Samsung EX1 and it's a pretty decent camera if you're on a budget although the Canon S95 is admittedly much better. The EX1 is portable but has a sturdy metal body, nice bright f1.8 wide angle lens, good big clear screen on it which is tiltable and handy for tilting it away from the sun...
:agree: I love my D40 too.
I bought a Samsung EX1 recently to replace my Canon G9 which died and I am very pleased with it. Samsung isn't really a make I would have thought of before but it's a great camera, has a big clear tiltable screen (handy to angle it away from the sun if you've no VF)...

I use a mountain bike lumbar pack and it's handy as I don't have to get my rucksack down to get to my camera. It's a bit like a bum bag  only bigger. Not the best look but does the job!
Thanks for the welcomes everyone :D it's lovely here I like it already.
The meet sounds great fun but I can't make this Saturday :'( as I'm going on a camping trip but I would certainly be up for future meets so i'll keep an eye out. I'll be eager to see Cwmorthin in pictures it's beautiful...
Hello I'm new to the forum (been lurking for a while ) and looking forward to getting involved. I'm relatively new to photography and hoping to pick up some tips. I am interested in landscape and macro photography mainly.
Speak to you soon!
