Mallory Park - Gone but not forgotten

On the HBBC website there is an interesting not from the Chief Exec Officer http://www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/press/article/1365/mallory_park-liquidation especially the last paragraph "These discussions and negotiations with the landowner (primarily) and with the council, which I hope...

    Bradgate Park Deer Photography Permits

To clarify. You don't need a permit in most areas of the park only the part to the eat of the stream which is signposted off-limits to the general public. The permits allow you to go into this restricted area.

    Mallory Park put into Administration

Yes but in this case a 1985 ruling set the number of Noisy days at 92, because the council didn't police it the noisy days crept up to 165. I do not like nimbyism but the locals ( 2/3 of those who replied to the council) used this ruling as a lever to win the case.

    Bradgate Park Deer Photography Permits

Has anyone bought one of the Deer Photography Permits during previous Deer Ruts at Bradgate Park. They give access to all of the area over the stream. Are they worth the £60 / £40 or should I just stick to where I normally photograph ?

    Mallory Park put into Administration

The Moto X track was built to stage the world championship round a couple of years ago & then MPML decided to keep it in a shortened form & allowed people to just turn up any day of the week. The problem with Moto X noise is the constant change of pitch as the go over the jumps! The main issue...

    Mallory Park put into Administration

Apparently the rent is £400,000 per year with another £90,000 Business rates so it would need a real financial wizard to make that pay within the restrictions of the 1985 enforcement order that restricts Mallory to 92 Noisy days / year. It has been the increase in money generating Track & race...

    Silverstone MotoGP

Looks Like no access to the "inside" of the track. Therefore the spot between Stowe & Vale where you can easily get pictures over the fence with most lenses is out of bounds !

Johnny Kingdom and the bears of Alaska

What a great program, JK showed what its like to visit Alaska without the advantages normally afforded to a film crew. I went to Alaska in September 2010 and this program captured the experience better than most. I did have to cringe slightly at some of JK's comments but that is part of his...

Mallory Park Circuit's future under threat

Red Kites at Fineshade Woods - [Result! Pic Added]

I drive past here regularly, last time i tried to photograph the kites was a couple of years ago. 200 seems to be quite a high number, there are certainly not as many as at places like Watlington etc. During nesting season they often shut part of the woods off to protect the birds. I,ve...
