Help! Are you allowed to sell here?

Until I saw this post, I had not realised one had to have a certain number of posts to be able to sell on here. That's a shame . I did have a conversation with someone on here a while ago who pointed out I hadn't posted recently and people might be reluctant. Is there any relaxation of those...

Does AF squeal affect Nikkor 400mm as much as the 500/4?

My Nikon 400mm f2.8G developed a SWM squeak after sitting idle during Covid lockdown , it cost £350 for a new SWM. The lens had very light non- professional use so it wasn't "worn out" by any means. Edit, I also have a Nikon 600mm f4G which had the same idleness during "lockdown" but the SWM...

    Landscape photography: doing it differently.

Get off the beaten track, I'm going to try this approach to see if its possible. Easier in Scotland because of right to roam laws.

    is landscape photography over?

I have thought for a few years that all the great locations have been done to death, so with some trepidation I am going to attempt leaving the footpaths and the well used positions. As we all know it is easier to do in Scotland than England and Wales because of right to roam laws but I'm going...

What sport would you most like to photograph??

I'd love to shoot any sport but It's finding how to get into it. Many venues are sewn up by resident photographers, horse events come to mind. I'm a cyclist myself and I have raced in the past but I find most cyclists don't like to spend money on shots of themselves so I gave up cycle events...

    Camouflage gear

Yes, full camo gear is ok in certain places but single colour drab is fine. Ive seen people wearing full camouflage gear on the Farne Islands where there are 200 people wandering about and the birds don't care a jot.

    Camouflage gear

Black is as good as anything, if you look around at a landscape especially amongst trees and bushes there is a lot of black and shadows amongst the branches.

Is this normal for a battery ?

I thought that the majority batteries if left uncharged can have several problems like reversing polarity, chemical changes that prevent charging, leakage, capacity drop etc.

    Camouflage gear

I just wear browns, greens, black, greys and khaki ( not all at once though ) just natural colours Im not keen on camouflage clothing as your human shape is still visible and any animal will see your shape whatever you are wearing. I bought a small camo net from wildlife watching supplies...

Beginner Video cameras for Nikon AF lenses

I have been looking at camcorders but Im just a little concerned about the small zooms 20x is a common size, is this enough for wildlife ? What size zoom does your camcorder have ?

Is this normal for a battery ?

I found two batteries that I'd mislaid for three years I thought were lost !!! ( Nikon ENEL4a) I put them both on the charger and they fully charged with no problems , works perfectly. I didn't have much hope for them so I just wondered if this is fairly normal or am I just lucky ?
