Nikon D3400 DSLR - lens compatibility (Help required please)

The AF-S signifies the lens has a built in focus motor. A nikon lens designated AF-D requires the camera body to have a bujlt in focus motor the camera connects to the lens via what looks like a screw head on the lens mount. So you will be fine with te 85mm lens on your camera. Cheers
