    Lovely lens but.....

I wouldn't waste money getting it repaired. As you say, you can't see any difference in image quality.

You are joking aren't you?! The 3 strikes rule is insane.

Put yourself in my shoes for a mo if you would be so kinda :)

I bought some ND grads just before Xmas. After much research Hitech ones seem to be the best quality/bang for buck (apparently the Cokin ones are not truly neutral). I got mine from here: http://www.teamworkphoto.com/hitech.html and they just plug into the Cokin P holder.

Is the 24-70 the right move?

I'd go for the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 myself. Super sharp. I would miss the wide end.

    A complimentory compact

Seconded. I have the F10 and it's great. Very good in low light (goes up to ISO 1600). The F30/31 do have a lot of manual control. Shutter/Aperture prority and numerous "creative" modes. They also shoot up to ISO 3200. Check sample pics here. All taken with F10/11/30...

Macro Lens - Which one for D200?

The Tamron looks like an amazing lens full stop. The fact that it's only £209 from http://www.onestop-digital.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_29&products_id=47 makes it a complete bargain. I'm sure you've seen the reviews of it below, but if not... "and it's easily as good as...

    Old SLR lenses

A 350D to a 400D isn't really an upgrade...practically the same camera with more MP. I've just replaced my 350 with a 20D from ebay (£430 mint). I can honestly say it's the best £430 I've ever spent. No disrespect to the 350, but the 20D's build quality/handling/focussing and viewfinder...

    ND Grads. Which Ones?

Funnily enough I was after some ND grads yesterday and after much research it looks like Hitech ones give the best quality/value for money. They're made from optical resin which doesn't rub off and fit the Cokin P system. They come in 1/2/3 stop (0.3/0.6/0/9) hard and soft kits for £30 from...
