You using full frame?

The 10d is not ment for new lenses. So in turn you will get that message. At least that's what a trusty shop told me. Apparently you can only use film AF lenses

I wish I would have took my time to read what you posted. The 300$ is for like 3 lights 3 backdrops, bulbs and stands and umbrellas or soft boxes. But I'm sure there is somthing for product photography and light boxes

I got one off amazon for like 5$ and lasts just as long as the stock battery. Have you looked into getting a grip? Twice the battery usage :)
