Hi Folks, Just been out taking some night sky pics, bit unsure on the best settings went for 30secs at f8 set lens to infinity at 20mm), do i need a longer exposure? looked a bit dim athough got more stars than i could see by eye. It was hardly a star field:) Cheers.

its a hoya pro1d, always had it on my lens, but was getting occasional oof shots, my old man suggested taking it off - so went out with it last weekend and didnt have one oof? Just seemed weird.

Has anyone had a problem with a filter affecting focusing, ie making images oof? :shrug:

Had some trouble with mine more oof issues found that setting it to afs instead of auto largely cured the problem

You could always download gimp which is a free photo editor and does most of what elements does?

I have a d90 as well, if you set the iso to 200 it makes a hell of a difference to the sharpness of the photo instead of using auto iso, one of you more knowlegable chaps can probably offer an explanation why say the difference between say 200 - 600 is so noticable.......which would help me out...

Hi Glitch, I think your best bet might be to put the font on a memorystick and then drop it into the fonts section in control panel on whatever computer your on....
