    Don't believe your eyes.

That is fantastic. The amount of effort gone into that is unreal

    300mm lenses for Nikon D3100

They will autofocus depending on the exact model number but honestly they aren't that great quality - image sharpness decreases dramatically once you go past 150mm. As others have said, it's better just to spend the extra few £s to get the Nikon equivalent. You'll know at least its good quality...

    Which tripod?

I have a Manfrotto MK394 PQ, and it hasn't let me down once. It's been in rivers, beaches, the sea, windy places and it's been very reliable. Also supports my D3100, battery grip, and a hotshoe mounted flash with no bother http://www.manfrotto.co.uk/394-photo-kit-qr

    what to shoot

If you are really stuck for ideas of things to shoot, hop on to google images and do a couple of search for some places local to you to see how others photograph them. I'm not saying to blatantly replicate their shots but it will give you ideas of different approaches to take than those you...

Duff Ebay purchase - Canon IS MKII 70-200mm f2.8

Definitely send it back. If you received it damaged, you're entitled to your money back. If it turns out that it was fine before being shipped, then it's up to the seller to take issue with the courier. Out of curiosity, of course without disclosing the seller's name or details, did you check...

Yeah that's a good idea, it still gives me more than enough height without central column. Cheers for the tip!

    Tripod repairs

Hi guys, part of the central column lock on my manfrotto mk394-pq recently snapped off, meaning I can't lock the central column in position. Can anyone recommend a heavy duty adhesive/bond to try and glue it bAck together? The lock is in the link with the points 1 and 2 diagram...

    Nikkon D3100 lens upgrade

The Nikkor AF 55-200mm lens is relatively good if you're looking a bit of zoom. Price wise, it's reasonable for what you get - anywhere between £120 - £170 if you look in the right places. Only downside is there's no Vibration Reduction that the 18-55mm lens has, however I didn't find it to be...

    Tripods!

Thanks guys for the tips, that Redsnapper one looks the ticket - the first shot of it sold it for me! That's exactly what I'm looking for. If delivery is quicker than a week then I'll go for it. Cheers!

    Tripods!

Hi guys, hoping I can get some help regarding tripods. I currently own a 170cm Vivitar tripod which suits me well as its strong, stable and relatively waterfall resistant for now. However, I'm travelling down to the Fermanagh Lakelands in a week or two and this tripod is a bit bulky for carrying...

    Trip to the Zoo (tips)

Thanks for the comments guys! I used a 55-200mm af lens for the majority of the shots, mostly at the full focal length of 200mm (although from this experience, I reckon a length of 300mm would be more suitable). Great shots Tommy, I probably walked right past you at some point during the day -...
