I was going to go for the sony a450 (£400 from John Lewis), but I felt getting a 700 would be the wiser choice. Just need to get some nice glass.

Just thought I'd let people know, if they didn't already, I believe Argos still has stock on the Sony A700. £730 body only I think. Bit out of my price range (hence why I'm going 2nd hand). But it's the last place I know of that sell them. Linky

Managed to take apart the rear of the camera and remove and put in the original screen (just to see if I could do it). And it went fine. Should have a replacement screen on its way soon!

Yeah I found a place that sells them for 75 euros and a handy video on how to do it yourself. I think I will be buying a screen protector after this!
