    Swallows

Believe me, there were quite a few blank photos. I think part of the problem is my lens. It only goes to f4 so limits the speed v iso a bit. It's an old Minolta beeran 70-210. still good and sharp, but maybe not just fast enough for these types of shot.

    Sony A580 help needed

I have a small scratch and a bit of dust on the lens of the optical view finder inside the camera ( the one that looks towards the mirror ). I have had it out to try and clean it but the scratch is there for good. This doesn't affect the pictures but shows both in the viewfinder and on the...

    Motivation - help required.

Wildlife park sounds a good idea. I'm in a local motor club anyway. I'm debating on going watching the Roger Albert with the family this weekend assuming that it doesn't Snow much.

    Motivation - help required.

I seem to be stuck in a rut. I take the camera with me but seem to struggle to find things to photograph. Been having a bit of a block since the Mull rally. I've not really got the kit to take decent landscape shots and much prefer to take animal or car in motion shots ( rally or whatever )...

Laptop screen flickering and going black

Looks cheap to me. Have you checked out the Ebay price ? You don't want to under sell it and do yourself out of that new lens !!!

Help needed accessing second hard drive folders

If you had the next Windows 7 up ( proffessional) you would be able to run Virtual pc which allows you to run XP within the Windows 7. This then allows you to run 32 bit older software. Just set one up for work. The problem was that Microsoft wouldn't let me download virtual pc with Home premium...

    D: disappeared!

Yes but connectors and anything else plugged into computers can suffer issues due to heating up and cooling down cycles leading to bad connections. As said above, It's worth checking all the plugs etc are seated correctly before junking the drive. There might be nowt wrong with it. The couple of...

Laptop screen flickering and going black

If you are going to get a cable, it will be fitted with a plug at each end but you will have to get the specific cable for your laptop. The plugs sometimes look strange with the socket body being fitted to the board and the plug ( on the cable ) being held in to this body with a clip that must...

    D: disappeared!

When you've backed it up ( and set up a regular backup to 2 external drives ) check the connections to it. I've had a SATA drive doing something similar and it turned out to be just a bad cable. replaced that with a good cable and no more issues in last 18 months.

Laptop screen flickering and going black

Sounds like the cable to me. Just had the same thing with my advent. Bought a cable off Ebay, googled specific laptop dismantling instructions and changed the cable. Now sorted. If you are careful and are quite handy with small screws, shouldn't be a problem. Just watch out for the 'hidden'...

    need helpwith an ebay purchase

Really does sound dodgy. If he is legit, why not get him to relist it at the price you won at as a buy it now with the correct details and tell you exactly when he's doing it then click buy it now. If he is legit, he should agree as, it looks like it's his fault that you can't buy it now. I...
