Another disadvantage which I have never seen mentioned anywhere is that the FPS rate drops when using a teleconverter. Not sure if this applies with all products but it certainly does with my Kenko x1.4.

Yes the mode changed in the settings from high speed to low, and Ive tried several lenses and all my different batteries. I've updated the firmware which seems to have resolved the issue (fingers crossed) Thanks for your responses.

My 4 year old 80D has just developed an annoying fault. After a few shots it switches itself from high speed continuous shooting to low speed. It does the same each time it is switched off and on again. Does anyone have any experience of this fault or a suggestion of how to remedy it...

Can I ask if anyone is using this lens for action sports, and specifically football. I realise it's going to be on the slow side for poorly lit mid winter evening matches, but it seems a good compromise wildlife / good light sports lens.

A bit off topic, but I've also been told at one National League North ground with 3G/4G that you must wear football boots if going on the pitch perimeter. Other clubs with similar pitches don't have this rule. Anyone else come across this?
