My mates a9 was sent back for AF checking after shooting a day with me and my 1DX2, seems my 'old' 1DX2 was getting about a third more keepers with BIF so we questioned the a9 being at fault, Sony didn't seem to interested so the suppliers supposedly tested the Camera, now it's back nothing has...

I know it can be linked I was more interested in the coverage, I.e 1.5%? :)

You can link it on the a9 and set the size (I think), but no where does it say what the sizes are? I've not read up on the other models, perhaps someone knows?

There is a "cough" discussion going on in another thread about metering, it got me thinking since I have a slight obsession with meters and metering, the 1DX2 has linked spot meter to AF point as does the a9, it's meter covers 1.5% of the viewfinder, thus I thought I wonder what the meters...

I think you will find that you do use it, I am sure the selected style is used to create the JPG preview (that is also embedded into the RAW file) that is shown on the cameras LCD, also I think if:- edit/quote, from the web:- Neutral uses perceptual rendering, Faithful uses colorimetric...

True - ish, Canon bodies that feature iTR use face detection to improve the focus algorithm when used with AI servo / group AF trough the OVF. However I have never compared the hit rates to know how good it is from my own personal point of view, some say it works well, I do use face detect...

You people do know Canon have been using face detect for some time right lol Just saying like....haha

Personally I think there will be a place for OVF's for a some time, for example if like me shooting wildlife you can spend most of the day looking though the viewfinder never to fire off a shot it draws little power, sometimes my camera sits in standby for hours and hours but I still get to view...
