Shame Freesat is missing those few channels (couple of music, Dave etc.) but personally I don't miss them.....
Other than that theres really not a lot of difference now HD is shared between both formats.
Surely its a bit pointless. If you type out a reply and set it to send at, say, 10am next day, they'll actually get it later than if you just sent it at 11pm the night before.
Or am I missing something?
Reportedly temperatures in use are controlled very well on both new and old models.
I've not tried it 'real-life' but from a few video reviews the new ones fan hardly ever kicks in (unless encoding or tackling other processor-hungry tasks)....
Sal, in that case why not get a current 13" air? By all reports they don't get hot and much lighter to carry. Otherwise very similar specs processor excluded....
Costs the same too.

You try finding a decent android tablet for as cheap as a basic iPad 1.
Before I moved house I had my original iPad connected with a 3 mifi. Quite a versatile set up for me since I also used it to connect to the net on my laptop and phone without destroying the battery life of the phone.
Benefit is the mifi can sit connected to the mains so you don't need to worry...
Not really, no. Theres a bunch of 'improved capacity' batteries on Amazon and the like but they're rarely as good as the HTC battery.
Best you can do it turn off unnecessary features (wifi when not connected, gps etc.)
If I may, my immediate comments would be as follows:

- b&w close up images look fantastic (though some, like the river/cottage look rather soft)
