it seems to work fine if the flash is in manual mode, eg when i change the aperture on the camera it shows on the flash and the distance indicator on the flash adjusts too but i just wanted to know if there could be any damage to the camera from using older spec electronics over a long period...
i am trying to figure out which lens in this category is the best:
Tamron 17-50 VC f2.8
sigma 18-50 f2.8, (the os version is outside my budget)
sigma 17-70 2.8-4.0 OS
sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5
if i had the money i would get canon's 17-55 2.8 lens but a bit pricey for me
but i am thinking 2.8...
http://www.simplyelectronics.net/
their prices seem great but that always makes me suspicious.
anyone bought from them and had a good/bad experience?
thanks 4 reading.
ie the £300 one and the £600 2.8 lenses.
do they have same IQ or is the OS version really worth the extra £300.
I see the similar canon lens takes very nice pix but its over £700.
i'm assuming the sigma version is competing directly with this lens but
does the cheaper £300 version do the...
for peeps who don't have cs2 i found this free HDR prog the other day:
http://www.hdrlabs.com/picturenaut/
the website is a useful HDR resource but i haven't used the software much
so can't vouch 4 it.
ofcourse you can also use layers and masks in any graphics software that supports them to...

would be really cool if somebody made a cheap prime somewhere between 10-15 mm , same sort of quality as canon 50mm 1.8 for less than £200,
would def solve a problem.
can anyone please highlight for me any pros and cons of these 2 tripods -
trying to decide which one to go for. emailed red snapper sales but not got back to me yet. eg is the 4 section tpod as sturdy as the 3 section?
thanks
if u only want a wide angle lens to do landscape photography is it worth paying extra for a faster lens eg the sigma 10-20mm 3.5 ?
since landscape work involves using small apertures anyway for wide depth of field, what good is 3.5 to you?
i've done some crude experiments with panorama stitching software but i haven't been using a tripod and so i end up with a lot of wasted height in the photo ie it ends up being quite narrow.
anyhoo, is there an ideal focal length for creating panoramas - eg is too wide an angle going to...
well spotted - you have to admit the 'more' link doesn't exactly leap out.
i was scanning the front page for something more obvious like
sigma or tamron!!!
thanks 2 all 4 links and advice btw (oops i'm at it again!!)
that may be true but showing sample pix taken under ideal conditions can still be very helpful, after all the price of a lens is the best indicator of quality so u can only fool people to a limited extent.
eg i've tried making my cruddy 18-55 ef-s kit lens take pix like my mate's canon 50mm...
Its really amazing that new lenses/cameras get released to great fanfare and u go to the manufacturer's website and just get a few sample pix if u r lucky.
With lenses its even worse and u r lucky to find a few anywhere - once u've exhausted fred and miranda (which is a bit of date) and...
