    The Advantage of AI

I use AI for translation as it does it much better than older online translators and you can also ask it to make it sound more formal or more neutral which is a great thing. Occasionally I use it for photo editing (mostly to apply filters or effects that aren't in Photoworks or when I feel too...

AI tools for repairing old photographs

Ah, I stand corrected then! It's just a perception I got from reading other threads on the matter, from what I've seen it looked like a common issue. Granted, people tend to share their negative experience way more than they would be sharing positive one, so there is definitely a bias. Thanks...

Does it make sense to repair historical cameras yourself?

Since you have all the necessary tools and knowledge for that, I think it would be a very interesting experience. People have been working on repairing old items for ages, why not cameras!

AI tools for repairing old photographs

AI is great for cleaning up the stains, removing scratches and restoring the backgrounds, but it seems to be notoriously bad with faces. From what I know, this is a common issue since AI doesn't know the person in the photo, it just guesses the possible features and recreates details that could...

Beginner Underexpose Shots with Lots of Highlights?

This is an interesting approach, I've surely never heard of it. If anything, I'd say that even guides on fixing dark photos suggest you try to avoid it in the first place while shooting (source lol). I suspect it really depends on the photo and many shooting nuances as well as the scene and...

    The Torture of Trying Adobe

Absolutely same but with Photoworks as it's just so much easier and works good for my purposes either way. Adobe's plan seems worthy only for those constantly using their stuff AND having some spare money to spend on it.

Photography Life - Have they stopped doing In-depth reviews?

Haven't seen a solid review by them for a while now, apparently they don't really care much about the website and switched to working for paying subscribers instead.

Good Way to Carry Small Camera and Lens?

A compact camera pouch on a strap should do the job. A friend of mine uses a smaller backpack for her camera and she wears it on her chest, while a bigger one with all the other items is worn as usual. However, it's quite a construction and if you need something from the "second" backpack you...

    Beginner Fix Blemish?

Yes to the clone and stamp tools, I think a trial versions should have them. Also agree with this! If you prefer mobile apps, try Snapseed, they have a spot healing tool as well. For PC there are portrait editors like Photodiva, they have skin smoothing tools too.

Beginner A beginners first proper adventure, and when are you no longer a beginner?

As for the question about being a beginner vs. moving up, I'd say you are no longer a beginner when you feel confident enough in what you're doing, you have more or less stable style you've found for yourself and you are able to analyze the critique and decide whether listening to it would...

When do you begin the Christmas season

Same, with the only difference being that I'm that other half and I'm usually saying this around mid-December. Thinking about it right now still feels kinda early but I've already started gathering some photos of city decorations for my smartshow 3d slideshows that I'll be sending out. I've...

    Organising your photos and videos

Mine a stored in folders by years as I don't take as many pictures to additionally sort them by months. Vacations and travels are sorted by folders of their own names alongside with all the smartshow 3d slideshows I make. Other videos are stored separately, again sorted by years.

Anyone else having trouble accessing the forum?

Had the issue yesterday, thought it was a connection problem on my side, but then it just fixed itself. AI being trained on these forums honestly sounds so eerie, dead internet theory seems closer than ever.
