New "walkabout lens" for Nikon DSLR (D90)

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my general use lens for a while. I’ve had my Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 for several years & apart from the lack of reach it’s been a very good work horse, producing good, sharp images paired with my D90 (and before that a D40). I also have a Nikon 55-200mm...

Simple filter solution - outdoors / landscape

Thanks so far - any more tips? A mate told me last night that he just uses a screw in circular polariser, shoots in RAW & sorts the rest out on the computer.

Simple filter solution - outdoors / landscape

Looking for the least complex filter solution for general outdoors shooting and a bit of landscape photography. Is there a one stop solution that will give me decent results in most situations? I'm talking mainly about over-exposed skies and would love to just fit a single filter. If not, what...

    Which Nikon Prime?

Would a filter help avoid chromatic aberration when shooting outside? If so can I ask for recommendations?

    Which Nikon Prime?

    Sorry - I'm sure this has been discussed, but my search didn't give me the answers. I'm after a lens that can take good family pictures indoors & out + some city scenes. I'm thinking 35mm f/1.8 G @ circa £160, 50mm f/1.8 D @ circa £100, 50mm f/1.4 D @ circa £230, or the 50mm f/1.4 G @ circa...

    D90 Owners Thread - Anything D90 related

Still in the early days with my D90 & I'm trying the bracketing function. Despite following the instructions, I seem to only get one image. I'm obviously doing something wrong - suggestions please.

    Nikon D80

Sorry D80 owners, but Ken Rockwell says "Don't buy the D80. The new D90 completely obsoletes it. If money matters, buy the almost identical D40, and if not, the D90 is a complete generation beyond the old D80."
